
Optical Fiber Splitters / Couplers
The Phoenix fiber coupler range is fabricated by the fuse-taper method allowing a variety of fiber coupler components to be realised:
• Single mode couplers and taps operating at various wavelengths and coupling ratios.
• WDM coupler to provide wavelength selectivity in amplifier applications.
• Multimode coupler/splitter with a selection of coupling ratios and fiber types.
• Polarization maintaining (PM) couplers to preserve on-axis linear polarization states through the coupling process.
Couplers are available in a range of formats for many applications and special devices can be fabricated tailored to customers requirements.
All coupler options offer very low excess loss and PDL performance and are available in a range of coupling ratios from 1% to 50%.
Single Window Fiber CouplerThis is the standard single window fused coupler with low polarization sensitivity and offering +/- 20nm for centre wavelengths of 1300nm, 1550nm and 1590nm. |

Wideband Fiber CouplerWideband couplers offering increased bandwidth to +/-40nm in single window operation enabling full coverage of C&L-bands. |

Dual Window Fiber CouplerDual window couplers offer similar polarization performance to single window option with +/-40nm bandwidth centred at 1310nm and 1550nm. |

1xN, 2xN Fiber Coupler arrays in 19” rack formatFor power distribution applications the splitters are assembled into a 19” rack mountable unit. The number of output ports (N) and connector type can be selected. |

PM Fiber CouplerThe Phoenix Photonics range of fused fiber couplers has been developed to offer the designer flexibility in optimising system performance. The proven FBT technology base has been utilised to optimise specific device parameters, reflected in the specific product categorisation. The polarization maintaining couplers give good loss performance whilst preserving the integrity of the input on-axis polarization state. |
